Rennsport Collective

Client: Club Mulholland

The Rennsport Collective is a group (or collective) of private individuals that have notable Porsche car collections. With Porsche, unlike most other sportscar brands, the community is quite diverse and very inclusive. Having been a Porsche enthusiast for years, I decided to try and get some of these contacts together for a pretty-exclusive trackday at Donington Circuit in 2019. When we started to look at the cars we had coming, it dawned on me that this ultra special collection of Porsches should really be opened up to the public. We didn’t want lots of people in the paddock though, so why not create a dedicated event on the following day that people could attend. The Rennsport Collective was born.

For the first year, we hired Donington Hall, very close to the circuit. We had over 100 notable Porsches on display – all motorsport inspired Porsches and opened it up to the public. Amazed by the turnout, we decided to do it again a few years later – this time booking Stowe House for the public day. It’s a huge undertaking, curating the Porsches for display, speaking with their owners (who are based all over the world) and then marketing the event and putting on a show. With over 500 people attending each time, we decided to have a few years gap before our third show, but it’s on the cards for 2025.

What makes the show different from the rest is that the displays are curated and displayed by colour – Blau, Grün, Gelb and Rot. So you can find an exquisite 2.8 RSR next to a 1980’s Rothmans-liveried Safari next to a ground-effect 956. They aren’t era-correct, but that leads to discovery and knowledge.
